Quick 5 with Hip Hop Artist iLLvibe

As you know, the city of Toronto is a haven for great hip hop music creators. The Canadian history of Hip Hop is rich, filled with bangers and memorable recording artists. Toronto’s own iLLvibe is now a part of an elite group of up and coming hiphop artists. What makes illy a full-on multifaceted artist is his love of film, photography & design. He loves these artistic mediums so much that he creates content for his musician friends! Thankfully, illy had time to answer a few of our questions while he tours internationally, sharing his life with thousands upon thousands of social media followers. Check out our interview below and add iLLvibe to your summer jam playlist!

Q: Favorite superhero & why?
A: Batman. I think because he’s the most plausible one. A billionaire with an ego complex
who’s broken in just such a way that he gets a buzz on saving his city over and over. There’s
something genuine and real about that. Also – the best movies.

Q: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?
A: I regularly cross places off this list as travel is an important part of my lifestyle and career.
My favorite place CURRENTLY is Barcelona, Spain. If I could go anywhere in the world I think it
would be Fiji. I heard it’s nice there.

Q: If they made a movie of your life, which actor would play you and why?
A: Denzel Washington. No follow up questions about age or race, please. Some roles are
meant for certain actors.

Q: It’s a mild summer night on the deck with your best friends, what kind of music are you
listening to?
A: What I listen to most these days is funky upbeat Hip Hop like Chance the Rapper or DRAM or
Mac Miller; or on some soul vibes like H.E.R or Musiq Soulchild.

Q: Let’s talk about your latest release and what you have in store for the summer of 2017.
A: It’s called “WE ARE THE ALIENS”! It’s a fun, upbeat and danceable Hip Hop record.
Reminiscent of Outkast, we really made a weird one that takes you on a ride through a mix of
sounds and genres. If you don’t listen to a ton of Hip Hop – it’s still super accessible to you too a
lot of songs have hardly any rapping on them – and then there’s songs like “Legends” with a
whole ton of rapping. It’s available everywhere your music already is right now as you’re
reading this. Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Google, Amazon and on and on and on. Music
Video releases all summer long on the Youtube also of course.
Also, we’re coming over to your house for dinner tonight.
