Transitioning Your Summer Makeup Wardrobe Into Fall!

September is approaching, which means Fall is just around the corner. A favorite time to update the wardrobe and also the perfect time to transition into some new products and makeup trends.

With the weather changing odds are so will your skin. Cooler weather equals dryer skin. Switch your moisturizer to a slightly creamier one, exfoliate twice weekly and start using a serum overnight which will help aid any damage from the sun this summer, keep you well hydrated and looking its best.

Tans are starting to fade which means a little more coverage may be mandatory. Try a sheer foundation and pair it with a great concealer for any added coverage you may need. A light dusting of matte bronzer is okay too, just make sure to apply it only where the sun would hit (temples, cheeks bridge of nose and chin).

Ditch the lip gloss and switch to a lipstick one to two shades within your natural lip tone. If you’re still into the bold bright hues try deepening the colors a bit to more berry’s and orange reds as oppose to those hot pinks and bright corals we have been seeing for the past 5 months.

Fuller brows are in this fall and the best way to keep you arches looking their best is to lightly fill them in with a shadow or pencil. My absolute favorite product for filling in out brows is Diorshow brow styler. Just pencil in small strokes, brush through and Voila! Flawless full brows in no time. Best part is this pencil’s shade is universal and works for each and every brow color.

Winged liner is a big trend this fall. Both thick and thin styles work and we’re seeing the trend in various colors, so feel free to still experiment with the blues and greens and even browns or keep it classic with the ever so popular black cat eye. If you have a steady hand, liquid liner is a great way to achieve this look, (Makeup Forever Aqua Liner), if you haven’t quiet mastered that yet opt for a cream liner paired with a great angle brush.

If liner isn’t your thing, one can never go wrong with the perfect shade of earth toned shadows. Browns, greys, greens. Subtle enough for the warm weather and enough to transition into a bolder look when the leaves start to fall. Pair with a top and bottom coat of mascara and you’re good to go!
