Stella McCartney is the kind of designer who sticks to her brand and her vision. She used grape skins to create a mock leather. Now if that isn’t genius please tell us what is. She’s had more hits than misses and this latest collection is defiantly a hit.
For her latest fall collection, Stella partnered with Stella… I know you’re confused now, right? Yes, I know what I typed… and you’re probably wondering “Well of course Stella partnered with herself, aren’t we all partners ourselves? Duh!” I don’t mean that she was channelling some mystic, psychological movement of herself, I mean she partnered with Mr. Stella, Frank Stella, the artist.
Frank is an American painter, sculptor and printmaker, noted for his work in the areas of minimalism and post-painterly abstraction. Stella lives and works in New York City. Check out his work, his prints are beautiful. Okay, now that we got that all cleared up, let’s get back to the collection.
As you’ll see in our video and below and in our gallery, we simply adore this line. The collaboration between Stella and Stella was pure perfection. Using Frank’s prints on Stella’s garments really makes these outfits pop. The line showcased femininity as well as masculinity. We are here for the parachute dress bottoms, the pleated sleeve that’s not a sleeve but it gives an amazing illusion that it is a sleeve… spectacular. Who knew that grape skins could look this good?
In a tube atop the Centre Pompidou. When you take a really good look at the latest collection you can see how fall fashion will be interpreted this season. We won’t be leaving the colours of summer behind but we will be bringing them out in a different way! If you want. See how to recycle past fashion looks in your closet. This will be a good video for you to watch.
