MFL News: Amy Winehouse Dress Earns 70K for Charity

Amy Winehouse, the talent behind the hit album Back to Black died tragically this year before we could see her full potential as a singer and songwriter. The interest in the singer is still at an all time high as Winehouse memorabilia is popping up at auctions for grabs. At a recent auction, a dress designed by Thailand-based designer, Disaya Sorakraikitiku that was worn by Amy on the cover of the Back To Black album was acquired Tuesday in London by Chile’s Fundacion Museo De La Moda for $70,400. Mind you, the dress was originally estimated at somewhere between $16,000 and $33,000.
Proceeds from this sale benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation, an organization the late singer’s parents created to help kids in need of assistance.
