MFL News: Fashion: Christian Dior Fall/Winter Show

Fashion watchers have kept their eyes on the house of Christian Dior.
The attention reminds us of  the Alexander McQueen transition when McQueen’s successor, Sarah Burton, took over designing responsibilities after McQueen’s unfortunate passing.
It was a shock to the world of fashion when John Galliano took a steep fall from grace, making anti-Semitic remarks and loosing his position as head designer of Dior. More shocking, is the fact that Dior has been using unofficial talent to keep the company alive. Step in Bill Gaytten.
Gaytten, former assistant to Galliano, took on the task of presenting Dior’s Fall 2011 couture show. Keeping the aesthetic of classic Galliano, Gaytten presented a fun and versatile collection for the meek and dramatic! Looking at how things are going, Dior is on the right track. Sure we miss the eccentric behavior and actions of Galliano, but if Dior can continue to deliver proper collections the fashion world will be satisfied with the transition.
