Learning to be done is not an easy practice, but it’s a necessary one.
It doesn’t have to be dramatic, you don’t need to go off the rails. Put the gasoline and the matches away cause they won’t be needed.
I know it’s difficult to not get upset when someone hurts you. The pain in your chest and the remembrance of all the times you were there for them, putting yourself on the back burner to cater to that person’s needs. Honestly, the moment they do that, they’ve lost access to you and your feelings… including your anger.
With the initial shock of any horrible situation, yes, you will snap and lose your cool, but after you’ve cooled down and gathered your thoughts, be done and walk away.
This takes practice and depends on the situation at hand but it’s something we all go through.
We have to learn to let go and don’t look at every situation as a bad one. Bad things do happen to us, sometimes more than we can bear, but people come and go in our lives to teach us something. Our job is to learn what it is that we’re meant to learn and take those learnings with us.
