Stillness… That’s it.

Stillness…. It’s funny, the older I get the more enjoyable it is. As a kid though, it was a lot different. I was never still, like most children and young adults you want to be involved in just about everything. Social calendars were bursting at the seams, you would barely sleep because you were either too excited for the next venture you had planned or you were already up past 5 am, who needs sleep? LOL, ahh, the joys of being young.

As cool as it was then to experience all of that, as I got older I realized that I was growing tired of the hustle and bustle. I had no issues missing out on things because I was learning to be at peace with what was already going on in my life. Stillness is my vibe, I relish it. I can’t remember what age I was at but it was definitely in my early 30s.

When I’m still and not focusing on the distractions, that’s when I hear God, as clear as a whistle.

Distractions are what will block a lot of us from never reaching our full potential. You sit down ready to start your novel and then a friend calls with an urgent matter that can not wait. You begin to write up ideas for your store and then you get sidetracked with a Netflix program (I mean you could just stop it and watch it later but it’s already on and you’re already invested)

It takes a lot of practice but trust me, when you focus on staying still, letting go of all the things you normally think about, that’s when you hear, that’s when you get clarity. To be a better person, better at your job, become an entrepreneur, etc. The best thing too about the whole thing is that you can start anytime, and it doesn’t have to be a long, marathon. Just start with 5 mins, being still and adding breath work, it changes lives successfully. I know because it changed mine.

Embrace stillness, keep your mind open and make yourself ready to receive.
