Name: Ella Yelich-O’Connor, or just call her Lorde.
Why Should You Care: Her debut The Love Club EP featuring Royal is the mega number one hit that is taking the world by storm right now.
Why We Love: Lorde is one clever 16 year old girl. The New Zealand native got tired of hearing how teens are portrayed in music now; driving Maybach‘s, drinking Grey Goose and having that desired zip or postal code. She sings the realism of the teenage life: sleeping in, hanging with friends, taking public transit to get to your desired destination cause mom and dad wont let you take the car.
Lorde’s voice, she has a very similar way to her voice like Lana Del Ray’s, smooth, sultry, perfection. Now, she’s still very new to the world of music and still has a long way to go, but so far? Not too shabby. Can’t wait to hear more from her.
