So I decided to try a cool style with my hair over the weekend. Who isn’t enjoying the stylings of Janelle Monae right now? Her retro-modern take on black natural hair is so inspiring and stylish! Here’s an idea of the “classic” Janelle Monae style…

I didn’t want a complete updo, it was the weekend afterall, so I re-created the same idea in the form of a bun at the back. This isn’t a duplicate of the style at all, just my interpretation of the idea. I’ll do a tutorial of the look soon! This style isn’t only reserved for black girls either! Anyone could re-create this style using certain products and accessories.
