Now open to the public, Osteria dei Ganzi, a new restaurant located in the Gooderham family mansion at 504 Jarvis, went through six months of renovations, making Toronto buzz with excitement about the new hotspot offering an authentic Italian dining experience for Toronto foodies. We recently sat down for a delightful meal with guests to preview the food before the doors opened to Toronto.
This is a REAL Italian restaurant first off. Ingredients come straight from Italy and are made according to their original regional recipes and the variety of wines are always available by the glass. Osterie is traditionally known for its outstanding “aperitivo”, a Milanese “happy hour” with complimentary tapas and refreshing cocktails. Ganzi’s head chef (from Rome) Guerrino Staropoli serves up a storm of mouth-watering appetizers during aperitivo including burrata crostino caprese, wood boards with imported meats and cheeses, shrimp with cream sambucca and plenos mushrooms. Our menu also included Pasta Ravioloni, Carni, and a delish desert, Dolci Trio. The mixture of good food and beautiful vintage meets modern decor, makes for a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere for meeting with friends.
