Summer Legs! Get Your Stems Ready!
It’s time to get your legs in order for running barefoot on the sand and hitting the pavement in those adorable sandals! Winter wind is not too kind on the skin, so prep your legs first before anything. We’re leaving out the shaving step, as we think that’s obvious.
First Step? Exfoliate!
Exfoliating only makes the product you put on later look better! This step removes dead skin cells that cover the nice youthful skin below. There are many products on the market for exfoliating the legs, but we use products from our own kitchen cabinets! We use Cornmeal or Oatmeal. Cornmeal is a course flour ground from dried corn. Just add some oil to the cornmeal and rub into the skin. Oatmeal is a softer alternative and adding water will make a great exfoliate! If you buy over the counter product, try finding a product with natural resources.
Next step? Moisturize!
This is such an important step and you can’t over do it. Your skin calls for Moisture! Our favorite lotion for legs is KERI Lotion. It gives a bit of shine and actually keeps our legs in perfect order! But try different lotions and see what works for you! We don’t use bronzer, but maybe you want more of a sun-kiss to your legs. Bronzing lotions are great for adding a bit of color! Sephora carries St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Lotion, a popular Self Tan product! As always PLEASE add SPF 30 if the product you use doesn’t already have it, and DRINK water! Aqua does wonders for your skin.
Now what? Pedicure!
We don’t even try doing this ourselves. We head to our friendly neighborhood salon for a pedicure for a relaxing, needful foot clean-up. Your pumps or flats will be happy you made this step. For a sweet fashion element, make sure you give your toes a dose of color to make peekaboo shoes shine! Up-keep is major important! Make sure to use hydrating cream to keep skin soft and extend the life of your pedi.
