Award Season: Our SAG Award 2013 Favs!
The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013 red carpet was filled with trends.
Side-Part & 1940’s up-do for hair
Fish tail gowns
Bright colors, Navy, Sequence
Strapless shoulders
Here are our favorites for the SAG red carpet. No one overly out-did the other, but certain starlets certified their fashion skills with consistency.
Ann Hathaway decided to go black this time around on the red carpet and we LOVE this look on here (Giambattisa Valli gown). Much stronger then her last look at the Golden Globes in white, in our opinion. And whoever said short hair is boring, check Ann’s pixie do’ here along with those red lips! No wonder why she keeps winning! She looks and portrays star quality. Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss went with a cocktail dress for the black-tie event (Dolce & Gabbana), but she still tops our list for favorites! Her hair and make-up help her simple, yet chic outfit truly shine. She’s giving off a Marilyn Monroe quality here.
We love white, and so do the stars apparently! Kerry Washington, another red carpet fav, went white and lacy (Rodarte). LOVE the top of the dress, but we weren’t huge fans of the bottom half, however, Kerry looks lovely with her hair pulled back and side swept bangs. Naomi Watts when white and lacy too with crystal-embellishments (Marchesa)! Her entire look was perfection from her dark manicure to her wavy hair. Ladies, this is the inspiration for your upcoming wedding! Ring wedding bells, RING!
Bring on the brights! We loved the colors on these ladies. Even if we didn’t LOVE the styles, the colors made it right. Freida Pinto in Roland Mouret, Lea Michele in Valentino, and Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab.
Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lawrence have good taste! The two actresses revived Navy for black-tie wear! Both wore similar gowns and both looked lovely, however, Amanda won this fashion rundown. You cannot deny the beauty of that layered fish tail! Nor can you deny the beauty of Zac Posen designs PERIOD. As for Jennifer, she totally nailed it in Christian Dior! This is the BEST we have seen Jennifer look on the red carpet. Now, she looks like a full on Hollywood starlet!
Must Mention January Jones. We love her on Mad Men, and we usually love her daring choices for the red carpet, but we could only think of one person as we watched her move across the red carpet, David Bowie (Seriously, it’s like Ziggy Stardust revival). January’s hair and makeup, we feel, didn’t help the overall look of her Prabal Gurung gown. January’s TV daughter and co-star, Kiernan Shipka looked so lady-like in Oscar de la Renta. Loved her hair and make-up too! Age appropriate, yet sophisticated. We have to mention Jennifer Garner as well! The gold with her skin and hair literally made her glow and her beachy-wave hair worked so well with this gold sequin gown by Oscar de la Renta.
