Fashion As Art Exposed! Group Of 7 Fashion Designers
In school we all learned about The Group of Seven, a group of Canadian landscape painters from 1920 to 1933. Last weekend, the Fashion industry named their Group of Seven, The Group of Seven Fashion Designers at Fashion As Art Exposed!, hosted by the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. The party was an elegant affair with many fashionable VIPs in attendance such as Jeanne Beker, who hosted the evening ceremony, Robin Kay president of the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC), & Leesa Butler, F-list founder & Divine Lab president. Of course, the seven designers who represented The Group of Seven were in attendance, Joeffer Caoc, Comrags, Greta Constantine, David Dixon, Thien Le, Lucian Matis, and D’Arcy Moses. Original designs, services and products were auctioned off during the event in silent auctions. Funds from this event went to the aid of McMichael, a gallery filled with the best in art and fashion. The presentation was filled with live music from Dr. Draw, while seven models walked into the main hall wearing 1 of the 7 designers. We highly suggest you visit this museum. Before the ceremony we had a walk through with McMichael representatives and were taken aback by the beauty.
