How I Work: Lucian Matis at Soho House
Last week, we attended a unique event hosted by Stylist Box at the Soho House. Canadian based designer, Lucian Matis had his lovely clothes on the racks for purchase and sat down with Stylist Box founders, Gail McInnes and Christian Dare for a candid, intimate chat about his beginnings, the fashion business and his endeavors into Home Decor with Lucian Matis Home.
I start with the vision of the show before I design the clothes. I work backwards. The show comes before the clothes.

This is probably why Lucian Matis’s collections always appear to be show stopping. It was interesting to hear Lucian’s thoughts on Canadian Fashion vs European, as Canadian Fashion is very conservative and simple.
