Who: The self-centred valley girls of the 1995 cult classic film Clueless, starring Alicia Silverstone (Cher), Stacey Dash (Dionne), Brittany Murphy (Tai) and Elisa Donovan (Amber).

Why: Hello? Like, Why Not? Clueless is a social imprint. The language, the clothes and the storyline impacted our lives. Even though the film was loosely based on Jane Austen‘s 1815 novel Emma, it was a satire on how small minded and silly young people can be. The film created careers and a pop culture influence that has made an impact in the nineties and now, recently due to the resurgence of Plaid in the main stream of women’s fashion. We are reminded of the 1990s creeping back into our daily lives. How many people are tempted to purchase a mini back-pack in leather like Back In The Day? The knee socks! Mini lengths! The first references to teenagers being obsessed with cell phones! Whatever.
