Lucian Matis Presents ‘Monochromatic Fantasy’ FW 2013

Designer Lucian Matis, in partnership with BAILEYS Irish Cream, hosted top fashion industry insiders and celebrities at One King West Hotel & Residence this week to present Monochromatic Fantasy, featuring the simple shades of black, grey and ivory. We left the Tents of World MasterCard Fashion Week, to see this special show which featured a gown constructed from the glass from BAILEYS Irish Cream bottles which premiered on the runway, preceding his collection. The collection reminded us very much of European design. The shapes and silhouettes created with felt, wool, fur and silk made for a visually stunning collection. This collection was a complete departure from what we are used to seeing from Matis. Select pieces were wearable, featuring overcoats, business shorts, fur sleeves, and lovely long maxi skirts in pure ivory, but the star element to the design was the attention to shape and proportion.
