MFL Fashion: Raf Simons to Join Dior?

So the rumor mill is saying Belgian designer Raf Simons is about to take the reigns of Christian Dior as their new creative director. Apparently they are about to close on a deal, according to Upscale Hype and WWD. If you’ve been following the drama, you know that the previous creative director, the flamboyant John Galliano, was dismissed from Dior after his arrest in Paris for racial misconduct. Dior has been diligent in producing ready-to-wear collections with their staff, while we all thought Marc Jacobs was sure to covet the creative director position. This should be an interesting match if this actually happens. Raf is known for colorful, youthful wear. With his Jil Sanders collection, he showed us he could dress the conservative corporate women, so maybe Raf, originally a menswear designer, can bring Dior back into a normal fashion house order.
