That Special Something: Jon Hamm

We can’t imagine any other actor playing the seductive, tortured soul of Mr. Don Draper. Jon Hamm carries that masculine family man, but flawed persona of so well. Now that Mad Men is in full season 6 swing, we decided to take a look back at the man who brings Mr. Draper to life. John Hamm is a goofy, cartoon loving, comedic man who enjoys the simple things in life, like walking his dog and hanging out with his co-workers at sports games. Hamm is also training his directing abilities. Doing more than just acting on the AMC series, Hamm has produced films (indie flick Friends With Kids), and worked in comedy (blockbuster hit Bridesmaids, TV series 30 Rock).  Although John doesn’t seem very metropolitan in the David Beckham sense, he carries clothes well on that 6’2″ frame. This guy really has that special something that will go on well after Mad Men is over.

John Hamm as Don Draper. He’s smart, sexy and suave. Sure, he’s a liar, but he looks so cool!
Jon Hamm as Jon Hamm in modern suit mode! Dark suits are the way to go for Jon, but what’s more interesting is how Jon can carry the retro vintage costuming as well as the modern fit suits of today.
Adventurous with his dark locks, Jon Hamm is blessed with dark thick hair. With that square jaw line, he easily looks like The Littlest Mermaid’s Prince Eric when his hair gets a tad long. we love his clean shaven look, but a 5 o’clock shadow never hurt a man.
He can do casual too! We love a man who experiments with hats and scarves. Even the ultra laid back look with a cross over bag works for Jon.

He looks a lot younger in 21st century clothes, as do most people. I think people started to dress young in the last 15 or so years – I have pictures of my grandmother from the 1980s. She was in her 60s at the time and, well, looked ancient. My mom is in her 60s now and looks much younger!
