FAT 2012: KAREY SHINN Cosmetic Green
We are happy to take in all the new talent presented at Fashion Art Toronto Fashion Week. With FAT, you can only expect to see what you wouldn’t see in your average fashion show. Karey Shinn presented a fashion show merged with dance performance and a tale of plants and insects who live and battle with chemically treated lawns. The story for Cosmetic Green is inspired by the 5th anniversary of Rachel Carson‘s Silent Spring, a book that exposed the damage that pesticides inflict on the biosphere. The show was choreographed and performed by the best in Hip-hop and modern dance.
