Fall Winter Trends According to World Mastercard Fashion Week FW15
Toronto comes alive when those white tents rise into crisp spring skies because it symbolizes that the most important week for Canadian Fashion is near with World Mastercard Fashion Week FW15. Fashion insiders, Industry members and Fashion fans converge on David Pecaut Sqaure to celebrate Canada’s fashion industry with daily runway shows showcasing established brands like Rudsak and David Dixon, while introducing fashion insiders to younger designers like Kania and Hayley Elsaesser. This season was fun for as as we styled numerous shows while taking in as many shows as we could! We enjoy sitting in the shows and enjoying the sights with our fellow fashion friends, but nothing beats the pressure of casting models and dealing with fittings days before and suiting up the models moments before the collections are revealed to the world.
Here, we want to stir you in the right direction for Fall Winter 2015! Using WMCFW designer collections, we will give you an idea as to what will rule the streets for fashion later this season.
PLAY ON THE PENCIL SKIRT
The pencil skirt has been on the radar for many seasons now, but the diverse and sexy garment is being styled and designed in so many different ways. Check out what looks made the runway this season.
FAB FURS
We are HUGE fans of fur coats here, so we were pleased to see the amount of Fur (Real & Faux) that took to the runway this season. To us, it seems that furs will be going back to the 1980s when furs were gigantic and over-powering! Get excited and see these hot looks from the runway.
Fringed Accessories
Fringed Accessories will be a must have from now to 2016, so keep an eye out for them. Love what Mackage did here! A fringe belt is a Stylists dream. With this belt you can literally change a basic body con dress into a fringe wonder. We want!
Show Off That One Leg
Not everyone can pull off a mini. I mean, they aren’t the most comfortable wardrobe items in the world, but if you want to show some leg, the front slit is always a great option. The look was all over the runway this season and of course, it was sexy! Check out these looks.
Fantastic Fabrics
Obviously, Fashion is a visual art. What stimulates fashion fans is what they see before trying a garment on, so when unusual fabrics and materials take the runway, you can’t help but stare a bit longer. These pieces below had us going.
For The Boys
Menswear is in its own realm these days. Fashion for guys has taken off in a huge way and not since the 1970s has menswear been so exciting to look at. From cool layering options (meggins under shorts reminds us of Jared Leto Styles) to old classics (Double breasted suits and the Canadian Tuxedo Denim look), Mens trends will keep the guys looking good for us ladies this Fall Winter.
WINTER White
Last season was filled with white wardrobe options and guess what? Nothing has changed! White is totally accepted after labor day and designers are cutting fabrics into stunning looks for not only formal wear, but casual everyday wear.
Black Minimalism
Clean. Polished. Sophisticated. Designers this year reminded us why black is here to stay. Cut a gown in a simplistic manner and leave the accessories at home, then, prepare to turn heads. We loved these looks below.
Until next season…
