World MasterCard Fashion Week: Day 2

And here’s our Day 2 of World MasterCard Fashion Week!

David Dixon

David Dixon impresses the World MasterCard Fashion Week Crowd with Drama, Girl Power and Classic Black and White. The veteran designer presented two collections. The first was all done in Black and White and one of our favorite presentations so far! Showcasing keyhole necklines, peplums, feathered collars, and sparkle, the collection was so well rounded! Literally a piece for everyone. The second collection was filled with Blue and White, well fitted dresses and gowns. In the beginning of David’s presentation, he projected a spoof on 1950s culture and the idea that smart women are destined to be alone, ugly, and depressed all because they are too intelligent. Once you have just about had enough, the video goes black and BULLSHIT spreads across the screen. The speakers turn up Beyonce‘s Run The World (Girls), and we all can’t help but celebrate Dixon’s positive message through Fashion. Woman Rock! This collection is fashionable, luxe and so wearable for the Canadian woman who is sure and proud of herself. Check out our favorite looks!

DUY

He had us at Hello! DUY (the Mercedes-Benz Start Up 2012 Awarded Designer) sent some of the strongest looks this season down the runway, and we WANT this collection in our closet. Go Duy Nguyen! The tweeds were irresistible, the layering options for sweaters and jackets were endless and the leather pieces with decorative necklines were our dream! This is a sophisticated woman’s wardrobe with a bit of funk! We were very impressed. The elegance showcased here in this show was very reminiscent to classic late 80s, 90s fashion shows. Check out our favorite looks! The texture in the fabrics is just fabulous!

Line KnitWear

LINE Knitwear stands true as it truly defines the term, Investment Piece. I am sure one LINE piece will be worn all winter, and partly through spring, for years and years to come. The label keeps bringing us timeless pieces that you cannot deny! Line crosses the borders of age, sex and time. The chunkier the better for us, but LINE also featured some lovely leather pieces. The styling of the pieces were so on point, showing us how a sweater DOES make our entire outfit. Trends like the Infinity scarf and gold-coated sweaters made the runway pop! I’m sure we will see these pieces on many women this coming Fall.
